D60 Queen's Gambit Declined: Classical: Unusual White 7th moves (1.c4 e6 2.d4 d5 3.Nf3 Nf6 4.Bg5 Be7 5.Nc3 O-O 6.e3 Nbd7 7.Bd3 a6 8.O-O dxc4 9.Bxc4 b5 10.Bb3)

The game below was played on the first round of the 2015 October Grand Split Three Seven I 1800+ tournament. I played in group 1 and I gathered 46 points. 2advent gathered 20 points. I was on shared 6th place and 2advent was on 13th place in the final standings of the group that consisted of 15 players.

I was a bit worried around move 20 that 2advent was going to win a pawn by force. The reason for me worrying was that I did not think that I could get any compensation for the lost material. However, after my opponent had won the pawn, 2advent's queen is left a bit out of play, which gives me some iniative and therefore compensates my material loss. The losing move came when my opponent played 28...Bf5, after I saw that move, I knew I had the advantage in the game. The game did not last long after this, when we reached the position after 30...Kh8, I thought first to play Rxh6, but before I did that move, I noticed that Rxf8 forced mate.
