B84 Sicilian Scheveningen: 6.Be2 a6, lines without early Be3 (1.e4 c5 2.Nf3 d6 3.d4 cxd4 4.Nxd4 Nf6 5.Nc3 a6 6.Be2 e6 7.Be3 Be7 8.Qd2 O-O)
This is the long awaited and many times tried to analyse game that I typed about in my earlier posts. I was able to at long last analyse this game with the Full Analysis function of the Deep Fritz 14 64 bit version. This was made possible by the fact that the program was updated and the bug that was in it was fixed. The position where the program crashed every time was when it reached 35.Qh5. It is a bad move but still the program should not crash because of it... I have updated a few more mate in one puzzles for you today. I know that the rate of puzzle adding has slowed quite a bit but I try to increase whenever I have time. I wish I did not need to sleep so that I could utilize that otherwise wasted 7-8 hours to something more useful :-P
Game number two. I seem to end up in this opening variation always from this unusual move order, every game I looked that ends in this variation every time the player with the black pieces has played the moves 5...a6 and 6...e6 and they are in theory the other way around 5...e6 and 6...a6. Still no publicly shared games where I would have ended victorious in this line, I wonder if I have actually won a game in this opening variation.
Game number three. The game below was played on the second round of the Smaller Tournament that is currently in progress at Chess.com. I advanced from the first round by winning group 4 with a score of 6.5 out of 8. It was only half a point more than Jessemw915 got, who finished second in that group. It seems to be also very difficult to advance from this round because only the winner of the group will advance to the third round. At the moment I have gathered 2 points out of the three games I have finished and that currently puts me in third place. I still have quite good chances to advance since the first two players have also lost one game. My opponent in the game below, rudobrody, leads the group having gathered 4 wins in the 5 games he has finished. _Henry_ (1900) is on second place and he has gathered 3 wins in the 4 games he has finished. I have played so badly lately that I think I will not be able to fight for the win of the group, but time will tell what happens.
