Today did not go at all that well for our team in the over the board team match. We lost the last match of the season 1-3 and that meant two things, we came second in our group and this was also the first match in which we had suffered a loss in any of our boards. I had a good game, managed to get a pawn for free but eventually my technique was quite bad and got in to a losing position and had to resign in a position where nothing could save me from a loss anymore. Two other players in the team I represented also lost after first having good games but somehow the opponents just turned the games around. Chess is sometimes very hard... I have also added four mate in four and one mate in five puzzle today. In the game below I did play quite well if only I could play all the games well... Alas I blunder too often even these days.
The blog features analysed games of mine, consisting of chess, chess960 and 3 check. There are also puzzles that you can solve by moving the pieces on the board and the solution can be checked by using the engine provided by the ChessBase's publishing tool. All games and puzzles can be downloaded for free!
