C55 Two Knights: 4.d3, 4.d4 exd4 5.e5 and Max Lange Attack (1.e4 e5 2.Nf3 Nc6 3.Nc3 Nf6 4.Bc4 Bb4 5.a3)
The game below was played March 19th 2015 at the FIDE Online Arena. This is from the first round of the WORLD OPEN RAPID tournament. I think I played quite well in this game, except for the move 23...a5?? as that should have been the losing move. Well, luckily for me, my opponent did not take the free rook but instead tried to get the attack going on the kingside. I think that was the only truly awful move I made in the game, so I can maybe be happy about that. During the game I remember noticing my hanging rook after I had made my move and I could not believe how badly I can play. I guess it served as a some kind of wake-up call, since I was much more careful after that. The fact that I remember it quite well, maybe makes me not hang my pieces so easily anymore... That's the dream anyway but like a lot of things likely doomed to fail. I have added three mate in twos, one mate in three and one mate in thirteen today. Today I am finally able to play at the FIDE Online Arena again after four days I think, it will be interesting see how the tournament will go this time.
