The thing I really like about playing chess on the internet is that I get to play against people all around the world. My opponent in this game apparently comes from Japan, according to the flag next to his handle that is. There has been so many opponents and so many different places they were from that I can't even remember all of them. I guess I should type something about the game before I get sidetracked too much. The game below was played in the 2014 September Octet I 1700-1800 tournament. In this game I played much better than in my other game against OdaNobunaga, in this same tournament. My fight for the second place in the tournament still continues as I still have two games in progress that decide the fate of second place. I did calculate for my own interest how many correspondence chess games I have played and my results in them. I have played at the moment I type this 605 games out of which I have won 437, drawn 33 and lost 135. This means that my winning percent is a bit over 72, which is quite nice in my arrogant opinion. Well the win percentage may seem nice until you dig a bit deeper and realize that most of my opponents have been lower rated than me. I have added two mate in three, two mate in six and one mate in eight puzzle today. Until tomorrow, my fellow chess enthusiasts.
The blog features analysed games of mine, consisting of chess, chess960 and 3 check. There are also puzzles that you can solve by moving the pieces on the board and the solution can be checked by using the engine provided by the ChessBase's publishing tool. All games and puzzles can be downloaded for free!
